eSafety serves as Australia’s independent online safety regulator. Their mission encompasses educating Australians about online safety risks and intervening to remove harmful content. This includes addressing issues for young people such as cyberbullying, inappropriate content, privacy, screentime and the unauthorised sharing of intimate images or videos. Through their efforts, they strive to create a safer online environment where individuals can engage without fear of harassment or exploitation.
Even younger students need to know about digital safety, before they encounter any issues online. The Best Practice Framework for Online Safety Education recommends that eSafety education should begin early and target younger students, corresponding with ages that children enter online environments.
